Mini Robotic Firefighter


Recently we are getting accustomed to seeing robots in every possible task we can imagine. One of them is of course firefighting. A South Korea company called Hoya Robot is on its way to build a firefighter robot to enter burning buildings for search missions. The robot is apparently able to withstand not only fire but water as well.

It would be a definite help to have these kind of robots at every fire station, which seems likely to happen soon. In some way this robot resembles the packbot from irobot in some way, which is already widely used by US military in Iraq and Afghanistan. See a short video footage below:
