New Robots show off at ICRA 2009

In the latest ICRA (International Conference on Robotics and Automation) event, which took place in Kobe-Japan, many new robots were shown, which had exciting new features. One which can climb to any pole or walk on a surface called Rise V3 was made by Boston Dynamics, which is also the maker of the recent internet celebrity BigDog robot…Another one, which was made by the Technical University of Munich, was able to navigate the streets of Munich, without having a GPS or any prior map knowledge of the city, only by asking directions from humans and finding its way with the directions given. Then there was the robot car navigation system, which can quickly and accurately identify obstacles in a busy street, including humans.
