Robot Competition in Europe

One of the biggest robot competitions of Europe, ITURO – Istanbul Technical University Robot Olympics, will take place in Istanbul on April 11th through 13th. The University’s Automation and Controls Student group is organizing the event, in their campus. The competition first started in 2007 and  has been growing in the number of competing teams since then. The purpose is not only hosting competitions but also to create a platform where many university students will have a chance to meet with top industry firms in the related fields, and there will be conferences as well.

Teams from every level, including high school and universities all across the world will be participating in the event. It is expected that this year a total of 1,000 projects will compete and the attendance is estimated to be around 7,000 visitors.

There will be 10 different categories of competitions, including three new categories, which are Micro Sumo, Stair Climbing, and a scenario where carrying a ball is required. The registrations are still open but act fast… For more information, visit ituro.org.
