Mosaic is a collaborative project, with the objective of designing and developing mobile robots of industrial quality that are targeted for high end markets. Among the many focus areas of the project, some of the main ones can be mentioned here are: to minimize failure rate, achieve easy maintenance with modular design, silent motion operation, 1m/s speeds, both indoor and outdoor operation, several hours of autonomy, various ways to communicate with the environment can be counted.

The project website claims that significant cost savings can be achieved through this project in developing robots with respect to a R&D project of a large company.
