Muscle sensing technology is promising for robotics too

With a process called EMG (electromyography), it is possible to obtain signals from muscles with the help of sensors, and transmit them to electronic devices. The project is a joint effort of Microsoft, University of Washington and University of Toronto. The process has the potential of bringing endless new possibilities to our dailiy lives, form controlling the virtual characters in video games to real life control of electronic devices or evenr robots.

The video below shows the system working with wires etc.. but as it is explained in the last part, a wireless version is also on the way. Combining this with the ever decreasing size of sensors and small electronic tags, the technology is very promising to find large scale applications. See video below:
