Robotic Workcell Design with Cloud-Based Optimization -

Two of the most critical success factors in the manufacturing industry are time to deployment and cycle time. Despite this, the design and deployment of robotic workcells has long remained a surprisingly manual and time-consuming process. Realtime Robotics is aiming to change that with Resolver, a cloud-based optimization engine that introduces industrial-scale automation into the earliest stages of robotic system planning. At its core, Resolver addresses some of the most persistent engineering challenges in workcell design: motion planning, robot task allocation, target sequence optimization, and layout validation. Traditionally, these steps require iterative tweaking, deep domain expertise, and a significant investment of time and resources to get right and be able […] Read More

Robots from Scrap Metal Parts -

Gille Monte Ruici is a French artist, based in Paris, He builds sculptures, essentially robots, exclusively using recycled scrap metal parts. He finds his materials in trash cans, in the street, or in second hand trades. His approach gives these scraps a second life and repurposes them. He invents and makes unusual constructions. All the assemblies are done with screws or bolts. Metal is ideal, he likes the material, easy to work with particular reflections, differently patinated, which are harmonized easily. Why metal? Because more and more products of our daily life are made of plastic, these assemblages actually use objects from an earlier era that mark our memories, that encourage […] Read More

Underwater robot for hull cleaning -

Here is a kickstarter campaign, for cleaning hulls of ships underwater. The robot can clean about 1.5 meter square per minute. 3d manufacturing of electronics -

Do it yourself from A to Z. Present you a diode  laser etching of a PCB. Author: George I Fomitchev Founder of Endurance Website: www.EnduranceRobots.com www.EnduranceLasers.com Photo credits: www.endurancelasers.com 3D-printers have opened endless possibilities for home production and rapid prototyping. Now you can easily create practically any model in a 3D-program and 3D print it. But until now, only few people have thought about the possibility to 3D print electronics for this or that solution (model). Up to this day to make a circuit board for a prototype one had to pore over it with a soldering iron or to order a short production run. However, many of us can […] Read More

DIY selfie bot -

Endurance robotics startup that was originally from Russia opened an office in the US, Naples, Florida and started to distribute their robot DIY SelfieBot for free.   Endurance claims that they want to help young people especially students to jump into robotics.   Endurance is bringing robotics to high school and colleges for free. As far as George Fomitchev (founder of a startup) says that they opened all codes sources and schematic so any student can reproduce the DIY SelfieBot on campus or at home. DIY SelfieBot (because of Do-It-Yourself) is a tool for students to make own robot based on prepared  tutorials and guidance. Endurance tries to make it […] Read More

Discovering the humans and the androids -

Article By: Carlos Ferreira da Silva – Brazil Discovering the humans and the androids Every robot designed and inspired by the human being is named android because they have an anthropoid form. But how these robots approach the object of his inspiration effectively? Thinking about it, the book “Human vs. Androids” presents a criterion for measuring this level of humanity baptized by the name “Factor Silva”. From there have been many androids measured and received their Factor Silva which ranges from 0 to 1 or from 0 to 100%. Factor Silva takes into account the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Spiritual coefficients that characterize humans. Among the androids who have received […] Read More
