Drone Racing Competition Heats Up

MultiGP™ Announces the Nation’s Largest & Most Competitive Drone Racing Series

PALM BAY, FL, April 6, 2016 – While some organizations focus on spectacle, MultiGP™ has been hard at work forging the nation’s most respected and competitive drone racing league.  With a network of over 250 international chapters, the organization has announced a National Championship with an authentic Regional Series designed to seek out the nation’s most talented pilots based on skill…not popularity, which is the first of its kind.

“The growth and success of our MultiGP Chapters is our top priority, as it provides the foundation for our sport and Regional Series,” said Chris Thomas, President and Founder of MultiGP.  “MultiGP nurtures the drone racing community at the grassroots level by providing complimentary software, racing tools and community which transforms casual groups into formal MultiGP Chapters and hobbyists into competitive pilots.  Our efforts develop drone racing from the ground up, creating the competitive environment the sport needs to progress.”

Pilots will compete near their hometowns at over 50 Regional Qualifier events run by their local MultiGP Chapter.  Qualified pilots will then advance to compete in one of 15 Regional Finals, giving them to opportunity to solidify their slot in the 2016 MultiGP Championship at the Academy of Model Aeronautics headquarters in Muncie, Indiana on Labor Day weekend.

“We empower our Chapters to help shape their sport and be a part of its success,”  said Michael Gianoutsos, Chief Marketing Officer of MultiGP.  “Regional Qualifiers are already being held in Florida, Texas and Louisiana with planning underway in the northern states for the summer season.”  Visit www.MultiGP.com/Regionals to find qualifying events and results in your area.
